With the holidays there are always family gatherings, work obligations,
and holiday parties.

Appetizers are a must have.  It is  nice for your guests to be able to mingle and snack before those big dinners.  This is a great time for your guests to visit and a great time for you to be able to finish up all of the last minute things before your special dinner.

If you use appetizers that you prepare ahead it saves you a lot
of time.  Here are a few recipes that give you the extra time you want
and need.

Ham & Olive Wraps
Tortilla shells
thinly sliced ham
1/4 cup of chopped black olives
8 ounces of cream cheese
1/4 cup of mayonnaise
2 chopped green onions

Mix everything together except the tortillas and ham.  Spread the cream
cheese mixture on the tortillas.  Cover with the ham and then roll the
tortillas up.  Wrap in plastic wrap and chill at least for two hours in
the refrigerator.  May be chilled overnight.  Unwrap and slice.  Serve
on a tray.

Wonderful Cheese Ball
8 ounces of softened cream cheese
3 green onions
1 package of dried beef
chili powder or crushed almonds

Beat the cream cheese.  Finely dice the onions and dried beef.  Add the
onions and beef to the cream cheese.  Shape the mixture into a ball.
Either sprinkle with the chili powder or roll in the crushed almonds to
finish it off.  Refrigerate until needed after you wrap in plastic
wrap.  Place on a platter to serve and surround it with your favorite
crackers.

Artichoke Dip
1 can of artichoke hearts
1 envelope of onion soup mix
1 teaspoon of garlic powder
1 cup of mayonnaise
8 ounces of sour cream
1 cup of mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup of grated parmesan cheese

Chop the artichoke hearts.  Set aside.  Cream the sour cream and
mayonnaise together.  Add the soup mix and garlic powder and mix well.
Stir in the mozzarella cheese and artichoke hearts.  Spread the mixture
into a shallow baking dish or pie pan.  Sprinkle with parmesan cheese.
If you cover this with plastic wrap you can keep refrigerated until
needed.  Take out, uncover, and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes
until  lightly browned at edges.  Serve with all of your favorite
dippers.
