This oddly named cake is actually delicious and its amazing if you add a few sliced up apples as well.. It is also very simple and takes little time to throw together. It calls for pineapple but you
can substitute canned peaches or pears also. I’ve used sliced apples, a touch of cinnamon and then topped it with cherry pie filling, or have used chocolate cake mix and then the cherries and nothing else.
It can actually be made muliple ways and is amazing, although it is a rich dessert.
1 16 ounce can of crushed pineapple with juice
1 can cherry pie filling
1 yellow cake mix
1 cup of butter or margarine
1 cup of chopped nuts
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Spray a 9×13 inch pan with nonstick cooking spray.
Dump in the pineapple with the juice.
Cover the pineapple with the cherry pie filling.
Sprinkle the cake mix over the fruit.
Cut the butter into little squares and drop them on the mix.
Sprinkle with the chopped nuts.
Bake for 45 minutes at 350.
